Welcome to SSJM

Chers parents,

Confier son enfant à une école, c’est lui confier ce que l’on a de plus précieux. Nous le savons, et c’est avec ce sentiment de responsabilité que nous l’accueillons chaque matin à La Sagesse Saint Jean Maron.

In 2022, SSJM joined the Global Education family, beginning a new stage of development focused on modern pedagogy, personalized learning, digital education, teacher development, innovation, and effective school management.

Learning at SSJM

The latest methodologies, with a flexible use of digital tools inside and outside the classroom

Preparing students for a world that keeps changing.

At SSJM, learning evolves with the world around us. We combine modern, student-centered teaching approaches with purposeful use of digital tools and meaningful real-world experiences.

Through academic learning, applied projects, collaborative activities, and opportunities to explore and create, students develop the knowledge, character, skills, and competencies they need to think critically, adapt confidently, work with others, and continue learning throughout life.

One Lesson, Four Ways to Learn

At SSJM, the activities of a traditional classroom are spread across the different modes of blended learning.

Learning activities

Synchronous

Students and teachers in direct contact, in the classroom or in a virtual classroom.

Asynchronous

On the Learning Management System, with automatic tracking and correction.

Self-Paced

Students work through lessons at their own speed.

Collaborative

Students learn together, with each other and with their teachers.

Teachers turn learning resources into digital, interactive, self-explanatory and auto-corrected lessons that use formative assessment.

Three Learning Environments

  1. Human connection remains at the heart of learning.

At SSJM, the classroom is more than a place for academic instruction. It is a space where students learn to communicate, collaborate, listen to different perspectives, build relationships, and grow alongside others.

In an increasingly digital world, face-to-face learning remains essential to students’ social and emotional development. SSJM keeps a balance between the needs of the digital age and meaningful human interaction, creating a supportive learning environment that nurtures wellbeing, confidence, empathy, resilience, and a growth mindset.

  2. Learning that continues beyond the classroom.

Since 2020, SSJM has developed a structured digital learning model that enables students to continue learning effectively wherever they are.

Through an integrated online platform, students and teachers access the Lebanese curriculum alongside interactive lessons, digital resources, guided activities, and opportunities for independent learning.

More than simply delivering lessons online, SSJM’s digital learning approach develops students’ ability to research, think critically, analyze information, manage their learning, and use digital resources confidently and responsibly, building the independence and adaptability they need for lifelong learning.

  3. Connecting the strength of the classroom with the flexibility of digital learning.

SSJM integrates face-to-face teaching with purposeful digital learning to create a more flexible, engaging, and responsive learning experience.

Interactive content and online learning tools provide students with opportunities to practice, explore, revisit concepts, and progress according to their individual needs and pace. This allows teachers to better support different levels of readiness within the same classroom while keeping students connected to shared learning goals.

Through blended learning, learning extends beyond the classroom, giving students greater continuity, access to resources, and opportunities to communicate, collaborate, and take increasing responsibility for their own learning.

Personalized Learning

Same class. Three ways to learn.

Every class at SSJM has students with different levels, speeds and learning styles. Teachers plan each lesson so students can learn in different ways in the same class: with the teacher, in small groups, and at their own pace on the GEI platform. Students who need more support get it, and students who are ready can move ahead.

Beyond Remembering

Learning is not only about what students know, but what they can do with what they know.

At SSJM, students build strong foundations of knowledge and understanding, then learn to apply, analyze, evaluate, question, connect, and create.

Drawing on Bloom’s Taxonomy while moving beyond a rigid step-by-step model, learning experiences encourage students to move flexibly across different levels of thinking, using knowledge to solve problems, make informed decisions, generate ideas, and transfer their learning to new and real-world situations.

Teachers First

SSJM gives high priority to continuous professional development for teachers, coordinators and department heads, with regular meetings with experts from the GE central academic team.

Train

An intensive program on planning the move from traditional to blended learning, and on using the platform, tools and digital libraries.

Create

Modern authoring tools, connected to the platform, to build interactive exercises and lessons for a whole class or a specific group.

Collaborate

Teachers and coordinators share experience and best practice to align curricula, assessment tools and teaching strategies.

Coach and Measure

Continuous coaching and follow-up, planning, educational KPIs, and performance evaluation.

Innovation Lab

Hands-on robotics and artificial intelligence, built into SSJM's ICT curriculum. Students program real machines, from visual blocks to Python.

Technology is not only a product. It is a way to broaden what we know, sharpen scientific imagination, and find new ways to solve problems.

The lab introduces students to important applications of robotics and artificial intelligence, and lets them learn through hands-on robotics activities.

From Visual Blocks to Python

Every device in the lab is programmed with a visual coding language that is automatically translated into Python.

It follows the same path as SSJM's ICT curriculum, which focuses on Scratch and Python.
